Kanchenjunga (8598m) is the world’s third highest mountain. Jannu (Kumbhakarna), Chhang Himal and many more snowy peaks recite here. We will encounter the Limbu and Rai, inhabitants. Uvauli and Udhauli are their main festivals. These festivals in October and May are celebrations of harvesting the crops and sowing of the crops from the fields and bringing to their homes respectively. The Brahim and Chettri celebrate festivals like Tihar, Dashain, Teej, Janaipurna and many others following Hindu religion. However, cultures and traditions insight can be witnessed only in mean time. Ghurkhas are recruited from this area.

Blue Sheep, musk deer, and the snow leopard are abundance wildlife of this area. There are also many Yaks in this area. This package has picturesque farmland, green alpine valleys, and rhododendron and bamboo forests. We skirt the incredible northern flank of Jannu (7710m), Pang Bema (5140m), and the base camp. We enjoy the breath-taking view of the formidable north face of Kanchenjunga.

Day 01: Kathmandu- Biratnagar by flight & Transfer to hotel

We will take an hour flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and stay overnight at the hotel to take our next flight the next day to the Suketar.

Day 02: Biratnagar fly to Suketar trek to Taplejung

We will take another flight to Suketar and trek for 2hrs in 2420m altitude to Suketar and Taplejung to 1820m which is the rarely traveled area by tourists. In this route, we pass by lush bamboo forests, terraced fields of rice, millet, etc.

Day 03: Trek to Mitlung

Today after having a breakfast we will cross the small river over a suspension bridge. Then our trekking starts down to Tamor Riverwalk through villages and terraced fields for 5 hrs. This trekking gives us an opportunity to meet local people. Upon arriving at Tamor River, we follow some narrow trails close to the river. Then gradual uphill trail through the terraced fields and few houses take to the village of Mitlung Village in 921m altitude.

Day 04: Trek to Chhiruwa

We will be trekking to Chhiruwa for 6hrs in 1270m altitude to follow the river bank, through small villages and jungles. A suspension bridge over a small river keeps on involved on a business of thoughtful trekking. Small tea breakdowns give us sufficiently of opportunity to encounter with local people and have a look over wild bee hives droopy over the cliffs. Upon arriving at Chirwa, we can make small exploration to Cave nearby.

Day 05: Trek to Sekathum

Trekking to Sekathum at 1576m altitude for 6hrs is an unforgettable memory. We gradually gain the elevation following the river bank of Tamor. You need extra courage to cross to cross some of the suspension bridge that comes along the way. After we cross Taplethok village we can see cardamom farmyards. In recent years cardamom farming has become one of the good sources of earning for local people. Cross the river over a suspension bridge and follow the gradual uphill trail to Lelep. From Lelep the trail is downhill until the Ghunsa River. Upon overpass Ghunsa River, we come to Sukathum.

Day 06: Trek to Amjilasa

We will trek slowly mounting and following the Ghunsa River and cross the river again to our left side. A short steep uphill walk takes us to bit high and keep the distance with Ghunsa River. Away we pass some disaffected houses of people and dense forests. We pass a attractive waterfall on our left-hand side just before Amjilosa. We will be trekking for 6hrs at 2308m altitude.

Day 07: Trek to Gyabla

The trail through a dense forest of bamboo and rhododendron is accompanied by a river. On crossing Sungbung Khola over a suspension bridge the trail gets steep up. Enjoy the beautiful waterfall next to Gyabla Village the river. Trekking for 5-6hrs in Gyabla in an amazing experience in 2730m altitude.

Day 08: Trek to Ghunsa

Today after having a breakfast our trekking to Ghunsa in 3595m altitude starts for 7hrs. We descend to the river and cross it. Then we track further north. Following the gradual uphill trail, we come to Phale. This is Tibetan refugee settlement. You can get a chance to buy some local handicraft products. Our trail continues further through Juniper forest which is followed by Ghunsa Village.

Day 09: Rest Day at Ghunsa

Throughout a regular trekking, today is a rest day. It’s better to keep your feet busy so that it doesn’t get lazy. Explore the village preserved by Sherpa people. The village is towered by tall peaks and guarded my mountains. Get to know the Sherpa culture and explore the monastery.

Day 10: Trek to Kambachen

As a previous trek out trekking to Kambachen starts at 4050m altitude for 5-6hrs. From Ghunsa we advance further to north through gradual uphill and pastures abundance of wildflowers. We cross Ghunsa River earlier Rampuk Kharak over a wooden rough bridge. After Rampuk Kharka, a beautiful waterfall and a sight of Mt. Jannu greet us and motivate to go further and we arrive at Kambachen.

Day 11: Kambachen Rest Day

No more stress this day. Acclimatize yourself and enjoy the whole day watching Yak pastures, stone made huts and sometimes blue sheep as well.

Day 12: Trek to Lhonak

We start the walkthrough meadows. Then a long gradual walk through the moraine along the riverside takes us the Ramtang Monastery. After Ramtang Monastery we can have the first glimpse of Kanchenjunga Glacier. We have some attractive sight of huge mountains. A final incline takes us the Lhonak, It Enclosed by high mountains and parched slopes. Trekking for 5hrs to Lhonak in 4780m altitude gives an amazing experience.

Day 13: Lhonak-Pangpema-Lhonak

Follow the Kanchenjunga glacier that slowly takes us to Pangpema/Kanchenjunga North Base Camp. We need to be alert while hiking. Enjoy the spectacular view of Mt. Jannu, Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Chang. Then we review back to Lhonak. Trekking to Pangpema in 5143m altitude for 6-7hrs gives an unforgettable movement of life.

Day 14: Trek to Ghunsa

Today after having a breakfast we will be continuing our trekking to Ghunsa at 3595m altitude for 7 hrs. We fall away steadily through glacier and moraine facing the huge mountains all the way. Cross the river over a small wooden bridge and here comes the Ghunsa.

Day 15. Trek to Gyabla

We repeat the way through a forest and following the Ghunsa Khola temporary the small settlement of Tibetan village to Gyabla. We will be trekking for 6hrs at 2730m altitude.

Day 16: Trek to Amjilosa

Passage the river bridge and passing a spectacular waterfall and compressed Rhododendron forest we head down to our campsite at amjilosa. We will be trekking for 6hrs in 2300m altitude.

Day 17: Trek to Sekathum

In Another beautiful day, we will be trekking to Sekathum for 5hrs in 1576m altitude passing through forest, river, waterfall and characteristic local houses.

Day 18: Trek to Chiruwa

We follow the Tamur river downward crossing numerous small tributary streams passing cardamom fields and villages we arrive at Chirwa village set among large boulders. We will be trekking for 5hrs at 1270m altitude.

Day 19: Trek to Mitlung

Today after having a breakfast we will be trekking for 5hrs at 921m altitude. Continually following the river, passing through the curious local people and bees hives hanging on huge cliff we will head toward mitlung.

Day 20: Trek to Suketar

Today we will be trekking for 5hrs to Suketar at 2420m altitude. We pass through beautiful villages and fields and arrive at Suketar to catch our flight the next day.

Day 21: Fly to Biratnagar and fly back to Kathmandu

Here we are at the end of our journey. We will take a flight to Biratnagar and again from Biratnagar to Kathmandu.
