The Jiri to EBC trek is the most classical route to trek. Apart from that, you’ll be walking in the footsteps of two great mountaineers Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary the first two people to climb Mt. Everest. Jiri known as Switzerland of Nepal has the peaceful and scenic environment. Along the trek of dense forests, suspended bridges, landscapes, rivers you’ll be accompanied by mostly Tamang, Jirel, Rai, Chetri and Sherpa people. From the lowlands of Jiri, the trek Hikes up to the altitude of 5000m+.You’ll encounter various festivals like Dashain, Tihar, Dumji, Lhosar mixed with Hinduism and Buddhism. The view of sunrise and sunset from Kalapathar that shine on whole Everest mountain range is priceless. Tengboche, Namche Bazar, Jorsale, Syangboche are few vital place to mention recommended to visit during the trek. The option to go via Jiri is the most traditional and earliest courses taken to EBC. The lowland of Jiri (1750m) to Phakding picks the classical way to EBC. The route used by the beforehand expedition groups to climb Everest. We will pass through the abundant alpine and rhododendron forests, rivers, waterfalls, monasteries, Gompas, Temples and local villages. We will be able to enjoy the warm hospitality of the indigenous, ethnic people of Nepal; namely the Tamang, Jirel, Rai, Brahmin, Chhetri, and Sherpas. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

A representative of Ammonite will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and will transfer you to the hotel. If you are fresh enough and not tired by a journey, you can take a short walk over Thamel and enjoy the evening. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing

Our tour and trekking plan begins from the second day of your arrival and that is today! You visit Kathmandu—City of Temples—with experienced English speaking guide. Primarily, there are four touring destinations in Kathmandu—Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Swymbhunath stupa (Monkey temple) and Boudhanath stupa. All of these places are UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. On this day, Ammonite will introduce you to your trekking guide and he will brief you about trekking. Similarly, you can experience the nightlife of Kathmandu and enjoy a local meal, if interested. Overnight in a hotel. You can experience the nightlife of Kathmandu. There will be pre- excursion argument with your mountain uphill Sherpa guides for good preparation of the trek.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Jiri drive

It is around seven hours drive. The distance between Kathmandu and Jiri is 187 kilometers. Jirel people are local to Jiri. TThey is Tibeto-Burman people who have a cross-cultural link with Sherpa and Sunwar.

Day 04: Jiri to Deurali

It is an ascend walk till 2400m and then decline till Shivalaya. We pass through Tamang villages. We cross few wooden bridges on the way and go through vertical climb to be at Deurali. Mani walls are seen in Deurali. Overnight in Deurali.

Day 05: Deurali to Sete

Bhandara is our immediate destination today. Near around Bhandara, you will see Sherpa village where prayer flags and Gompa are common. We further move ahead to reach suspension bridges. We arrive at Kinja. Now the trail is vertical and we pass through rhododendron forests to reach Sete where we will halt for a night.

Day 06: Sete to Junbesi

It is a bit hard walk today until Lamjura Bhanjyang. It is a jungle walk. Lamjura Bhanjyang is a peak between Jiri and Namche Bazaar. Before arriving at Junbesi we see mantras carved in rocks. View of Mt. Gaurishankar, Number Himal, and Dudh Kunda is spectacular from Junbesi. We will spend the night in Junbesi.

Day 07: Junbesi to Nunthala

Today we cross Junbesi Khola (River) and the trail leads to Khumbu region. It is an uphill walk. While on a walk we will see Everest from some places. We arrive at a suspension bridge above Dudh Khola. Buddhist Chorten and Mani walls are visible on the route. After going through conifer and rhododendron forests we arrive at Nunthala where we will enjoy our night.

Day 08: Nunthala to Kharikhola

It is downhill walking today until Dudh Koshi River. We follow the course that goes through fields reaching Rai village of Jubling. A further walk will take us to Kharikhola where we will spend a night.

Day 09: Kharikhola to Puiyan

We cross suspension bridge leaving Kharikhola behind. Now we climb vertically to reach Bupsa. The trail goes down through Sherpa village. We follow up and down a trail to reach Puiyan. Overnight in Puiyan.

Day 10: Puiyan to Phakding

We walk for an hour to arrive at a ridge at an altitude of 2,800m. We pass through Lukla airport along with Dudh Koshi River. On the way, Mt Nupla (5885m), Kusum Kangaru (6367m) and the Mount Kwongde Range are sited. Further two hours walk will take us to Phakding village where we will spend a night.

Day 11: Phakding to Namche Bazaar

Following the route of Dudh (Milk) Koshi River we trek towards Namche Bazaar. Monjo is our on the way destination. We cross pine, fir and rhododendron forest to arrive at Monjo. It (Monjo) is an entrance to Sagarmatha National park. After some time of walk, we arrive at Namche Bazaar where we enjoy some time by roaming and talking with local people. Overnight in Namche.

Day 12: Namche Bazaar (Acclimatization Day)

It is a rest day today. Today we will explore Namche and get acquainted with local culture especially, Sherpa culture. Acclimatization is necessary to adjust body with the increasing elevation. On this very day, we will visit Sagarmatha National Park and hike to Everest View Hotel.

Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

It is a difficult hike today and we transmission above Dudh Koshi River. As we go higher, we see the path to Tengboche. The path is encircled by the other Himalayas. We see different types of birds and animals on the way. Danfe (national bird of Nepal) is common in the area. We will also see Himalayan that on the route. From Trashinga the track grades depressed and following this tack we reach Phunkitenga. We have our lunch here. We will go rising over rhododendron, pine and fir forests to reach Tengboche. From the method, we will see our lodge at Tengboche and the site looks attractive as it is bounded by mountains and forests. We will spend a night at Tengboche.

Day 14: Tengboche to Dingboche

Enjoying beautiful landscapes, lush green vegetation and the White Mountains ahead, our walk towards Dingboche continues. It is a pleasant trail on foot and probably the best walk of your life. We will spend a night at Dingboche.

Day 15: Dingboche (Rest and Acclimatization Day)

Although it is a rest day today we will carry out our small excursion. We will visit Dingboche monastery and Chhukung village. In this village, you will meet with Sherpa people and get a chance to understand their culture which is unique for tourists. The view of Mt. Everest, Amadabalam, Lhotse, Tawache and other mountains will truly make your day full of wonder.

Day 16: Dingboche to Lobuche

Today we head towards Dugla. We keep on walking to Khumbu Glacier. The view of Tawache and Cholaste on the way will please you. You feel very cold after arriving in Lobuche. We will explore the area and spend a night in Lobuche.

Day 17: Lobuche – Gorak Shep – Everest Base Camp

It is a day when your dream will turn true. We will walk ahead towards Everest Base Camp (EBC). It is a place where mountaineers prepare themselves before summiting the peak—Mt. Everest—the highest Peak of the world at an elevation of 8,848m. You are in that place at present about which people keep on talking. Its majesty is not expressed in words. In the afternoon we descend towards Gorakshep where we will spend a night.

Day 18: Gorak Shep to Dzongla

Kalapatthar is our next immediate destination. We wake up early in the morning to be there so that we could enjoy the sunrise from Kalapatthar. It is steep walk so we walk carefully and slowly. Kalapatthar is a rocky peak located below Pumori. The view from Kalapatthar will be never forgotten memory of your life. We walk towards Lobuche for lunch. Our further walk will take us to Dzongla.

Day 19: Dzongla to Chola Pass to Thangnak

To reach Cho La Pass in best weather condition, we walk early in the morning. We follow narrow path and that will take us to the main glacier. The view from Cho La Pass (5,420m) is really beautiful. We will see Baruntse, Ama Dabalam, and many other peaks from the pass. Due to crevasses, we need to be very careful in the pass. We get down carefully to arrive at Nymagawa Valley. After some hours of walk, we arrive at Thangnak where we will spend a night.

Day 20: Thangnak to Gokyo Lake

Ngozumba glacier is our first immediate destination. The view of Gokyo Valley from Ngozumba is wonderful. We reach Gokyo valley then after. It is now 45 minutes walk to arrive at Gokyo village where we will take rest for the night.

Day 21: Rest day at Gokyo Lake

It is a rest day today. In order to adapt your body to the altitude, we take rest. But on this day we will enjoy local surroundings like Gokyo Ri and can climb Gokyo Peak (5,360m). The scenery of this place will spellbind you.

Day 22: Gokyo to Renjo La Pass to Lungden

The trail today is interesting as it goes encircling to the north of Gokyo Lake. We further move upward. The view of Gokyo and the mountains at our back is so beautiful. Now we move further to reach Renjo La Pass. It is at an altitude of 5,420m. We reach the peak of the pass and from there observe Nangpa Valley. At our back is towering Everest and Makalu. We get down carefully from the pass. Further ahead is a glacial lake. We move further ahead to arrive at Lungden where we will spend a night.

Day 23: Lungden – Thame

We move later today as it is down walking following Bhote Koshi River. We cross Nangpa Valley to arrive at Marlung. The trail goes on declining till we reach Tarang. We finally arrive at Thame where we will stay tonight.

Day 24: Thame to Manjo

We walk towards Bhote Khola and this area is popular for Buddhist rock painting. We will see Himalayan than here. We continue walking till we reach Thamo and get back to Namche Bazaar. In the noon we walk down to cross a suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi River. We walk through Jorsale and get back to Monjo where we will halt for the night.

Day 25: Manjo to Lukla

This is the last day of around one-month trekking. Here we make the final climb up to the airstrip at Lukla after a short walk on the valley.

Day 26: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

Today we catch a flight to Kathmandu from Lukla. It is a beautiful scenic flight of around half an hour. You can enjoy some time in Kathmandu. Roam around Thamel and enjoy the shopping. Today Ammonite will offer you farewell dinner.

Day 27: Departure to your country

Here ends your trekking today. A representative of Ammonite will drop you at the airport three hours before a scheduled flight to your onward destination. See you again!!
